I just bought black and Navy blue underwear (hanes) and just saw it has to be long, so i googled long underwear, dude its like leggings. Is this true? Do they really care what underwear you wear. Does it have to be long if its dark! What underwear would you say i should bring., im just confused again Please someone help me! Oh yeah do they take your bag away when you arrive at basic with all your stuff in it, or separate what you need

It should be long and navy blue. They won't let you wear black ones. If they are in stock at Cape May you can buy them there. Better to get them now.

You do understand you don't have to wear long underwear 100%the time there too, right? It's your choice, you can wear normal underwear the whole time you are there too!

the long johns are a recommendation for the winter months so that youre warm under your uniform but not necessarily a requirement. if you can manage without them in the cold then by all means go for it. if you DONT get long johns then your regular underwear (boxers or briefs) should be white only. no black or navy.

I was there from April- June and never wore them either. They keep you moving enough to stay warm!
