I'm looking at getting Lasik Eye Surgery in the next month or 2 before going to meet with a recruiter about joining the reserves. Will getting eye surgery have any issues with me being able to join? I know it's only a few weeks to a month for recovery time. Also I've read mostly about lasik but there is also PRK (or something like that). I just want to make sure that if I get the surgery I won't have any problems speaking to a recruiter.

    Thanks

Look here on pages 11-12. These are the medical standards for enlistment used by all branches. http://dtic.mil/whs/directives/corr...13003p.pdf

besides reading the manual that Chief has so nicely provided... Why don't you speak to a recruiter first, let him know your intentions and desires in the CG and then make decisions? You can't reverse the surgery but you can look before you leap.
