Basically i just want to see what kind of cars everyone is into, if anyone is buying anything cool or restoring any classics.
I plan on buying something after bootcamp, i'm nineteen and getting a steady pay check means i can pick up something pretty cool =)
So my plans are to pick up a 370z or vwr32 after bootcamp.
Anyone else have the same plans or anything?

Heck yea. Great gas mileage right there. Dang i googled the Night Runner, that's a pretty sick truck. I wouldn't mind having one of those at all. All my buddies are into the tuner thing, so i feel as if i should get something to compete with the, so 370z it is.

Smoky and the Bandit, now that was a car...I wanted one of those pretty badly back in the day, but Grams would not loan me the money for one, instead she offered to get me a 64 AMC Rambler…ended up with a pea green 68 Ford Galaxy 500 cost me $300 and my girlfriend (now wife) had a sky blue 74 Ford Maverick cost her $500…LOL

Don't be hating on the little Hybrid cars...I drive mine proudly! :-)

My first car was a 71 Ford LTD in pea soup green. But I could carry just about the whole drum line in my car... absolutely could if a few agreed to go in the truck! That thing was bigger than a CG Cutter! HAHA

lol the Ford LTD is a boat, that thing is huge. No hate on the Hybrids=) I want to convert my car to e85 when i get it =)  Mainly just because it's a higher octane, it's almost like race fuel, and it's cheaper and better for the planet.

The last cool car I owned was a 71 cutlass supreme convertible. Bought it and sold it while stationed in Hawaii. I have owned a few classics and am currently looking for one now that I have a 30X50 foot garage on the property!

I have had a 71 and a 78 Camaro, A 70 Olds Toronado, a 70 Mach 1, a 70 nova ss and a 74 nova. Wildest car I drove, a 74 gremlin, (just kidding but did own!) Favorite car was actually an 85 dodge ram charger that I owned in Alaska. That truck would get me anywhere!

Next one will be an early 50's style caddy!

You have had a lot of nice cars chuckles, i am very jealous haha. As far as getting an R32 i havent decided, it costs a lot more for a turbo set up and what not, if i go with the Z for around ten grand i could be making 550 rwhp.. for the R32 it wold be close to 17-20k

Well, I've had three so far.

    A 2000 Crown Vic P71 with 18x9" Saleen S281 Replicas, and a few mods.
    http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/2676/dscn36042.jpg

A 1994 Trans Am with the Chevy smallblock 350 and the 6 speed manual with 3.42 gears and full bolt ons (intake, complete exhuast with longtube headers, stage II clutch).
    http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6065/dscn41843.jpg

And my current black 2001 F250 Powerstroke with 2005+ headlights and tow mirrors, and 22x9.5" rims.

I'm really loving the Pony Car War Revival. Mustang brought out the 5.0, Challenger brought back the 392, and we'll see what they put in the Camaro to compete with these. Hopefully, I'll be able to buy one of those three a few years done the road.

However my dream car for like the last 5 years now has been a 2004 Cobra SVT in Screaming Yellow with possible a Kenne Bell Mammoth supercharger and a Bassani X-pipe with Borla Stingers exhaust setup.

Pff my friend and i raced an 04 svt with a kenne bell, he pulled on us from a roll but we got him by about a car length. Both cars pushing about 500hp. The powerband of a supercharger is so nice, My friend and I were in his turbod Evo.

I used to have a 3000GT, then a 350Z, then a Mustang GT and now I have a BMW 3-series. All have been good to me and never gave me any problems.

I'm thinking about a 2SS Camaro as my next car. I think that after watching Hawaii Five O I've fallen in love with the Camaro.

If the sky was the limit though, I'd have a Bugatti EB110 or a Porsche 911 Turbo.

I've seen a Jaguar XK 150 around town, and there's a guy somewhere on the island that owns a Ferrari.

(new to the boards by the way)

Those are both great cars, but I would do some research on the 370Z. Nissan's tend to have issues when it comes to paint chips.

They should, but some people have had trouble getting Nissan to pay.

If I had to pick three sports/muscle cars on the market today I'd pick the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8, 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 and the 2SS Camaro.

I wish Mitsubishi would bring back the 3000GT, Toyota bring back the Supra, and Acura bring back the NSX.

Thanks, I really enjoyed modifing the Vic since it's so hard to imagine them as anything but a cop car. And yeah, I would definitely go with the S2K. Especially with a hardtop. I attended a JDM South meet with my buddies recently and they had some really clean looking S2K's over there.

And yeah, Terminator Cobra's are pushing 500-700 rwhp like it's nothing nowadays. Twin turbo one's easily push over 1000 rwhp. Me, I'd be happy with a daily driven 500-700 rwhp one. My buddy had a 2003 Mustang V6 in Screaming Yellow with a built V8 swapped in and a centrifugal supercharger. It was making power somewhere in the 400's I believe.

That does sound sweet. And yeah, back in the day when I was working at the movies and living with my parents, a large part of my paychecks would go into mods and stuff. lol.

Also, for the S2K there's three styles of hardtops I've seen, one is the OEM which is a shorter type which looks kind of like the factory convertible top, then there is the Mugen one which looks kind of similar but with sharper angles and stuff, and the other is the Spoon one which is a longer fastback style which looks great in my opinion. My personal preference would be the Spoon hardtop.

And yeah, those rides can be pretty fun and quick, and there's a few pics of some S2K's popping wheelies, so you know they have potential. Well, good luck.

Yea they do, the earlier s2k has a 9k redline which is pretty sweet. I like the Mugen but i also really like the Amuse hardtop, i think they only come in carbon fiber. I don't think i'd ever own one but they're pretty cool haha.
And yea after i'm out of basic and save up a little bit of cash i plan on buying and 05 s2k. I mean i'll get to live on base and stuff, and probably won't have any bills so why not.

We did a test drive on the new Camaro. I do NOT like the windshield. The dash is high, the roof low and because of the on star and antennas embedded in the windshield your line of vision is VERY limited. They had a little course at the dealership and then the salesman asked if I wanted to take it out on the road to feel the engine on the highway. I said nope, not at all. I wouldn't trust that I could see everything around me. I really was uncomfortable with a windshield like that! I'm sure it is something that can be gotten used to with time but the possibilities of crunching into more than one person while adjusting, it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Then we went and did a test drive on the Dodge Challenger! That was fantastic. Not only the grip, the feel, the cockpit area was comfortable, the windshield left open for great viewing space. Also, with the Challenger I sat down in the car, I stood up to get out of the car. The Camaro I felt like I plopped onto a skateboard it was so low and then I had to roll out to get my knees to straighten up. (But that is just being an old lady, the knees aren't happy trying to stand me up when they are higher than the hips. Old age sucks! LOL)

I agree, love the look and style of both vehicles, and typically I am a chevy guy. But the Challenger had a better feel and response than the camaro. Love them both but would buy a challenger first,
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted Coastie, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

The Camaro does have a lot of blind spots. When I drove the 3000GT it was the same way but you get used to it. I've always been more about coupes and sports/muscle cars than sedans, but then again I'm only 33. When I get older, and especially if I ever have back problems, that may change.

Challenger isn't a sedan. Not even close to a sedan. Charger is more sedan styling with 4 doors and larger body.
