So here in the northwest my city is starting to look like a clip from the movie silent hill. Visibility started at more than a mile this morning. Today at 14:09 it is less than 500 yards. And the hills have disappeared from view. I am far from the fires, but it is like they are happening in my back yard. Anyone else having similar problems? Yesterday I hiked a mountain and it was unlimited visibility.

You should download the sountracks to Silent Hill 2 and 3 then drive around with it playing.
Down here in Miami it's bright, sunny, and hotter than two mice barbecuing in a wool sock.

I'm in Wisconsin and gratefully fall is quickly approaching. Our wool sock mice days are dwindling, rapidly. I have several friends in Washington, family in Oregon & Idaho... I've seen some of the pictures. Today, you can see mountaintops, tomorrow it will be so greyed out with smoke, you can only make out the closest trees. It is really unbelievable. I hope you are staying safe and the fires stay away.

The wind changed and we went up to one of the look out points and you cannot see past the 3rd peak from vista house. The 4th peak is where the fire closest to Portland in Washington is. The Vancouver Portland area has cleared up a lot. The sky looks like a smog heavy day in Chicago now. At least you can now see across the river and the sun set wont look blood red.
