Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I are discussing marriage. We are both Active Duty in the Coast Guard. I was wondering if there were any other member to member married couples out there? What has your expierence been like? Has it been hard to get co located? We both would like to have children, but I am worried that it won't work with us both being active duty. Has anyone had issues with both members being assigned to operational units with children? If it comes down to it, I am willing to switch to reserves and let my boyfriend remain active duty. However, I'd like to stay active duty for as long as possible.
Thanks for any help or advice!

I am in a member to member marriage. Needs of service come first. We were apart for 2 years and now he's on a cutter. I've seen other couples have kids, but how easy it will be depends largely on your ratings.
Honor: if you need it defined, you don’t have it.

I think its possible. I have thought about it too, and basically decided I would no matter what have a live in nanny if I were to marry another active duty member, or even just anyway and I were to remain active duty. And I want too.
Take what you like and leave the rest behind.
