My first post and, regrettably a sad one at that.
I have just received my retire newsletter and have seen that my former CO of the USCGC NANTUCKET WPB 1316 has passed away. Commander Al Bernard was the finest CO anyone could have had. I have sent a blind email to his email address, the one in which we corresponded together in July 2017.
If anyone has information on his passing or how I can get in touch with his wife, Ann please let me know.

    Thank you very much.

    Respectfully,

    David Lukasik, Bosun2 Ret.

    Greetings, sir,

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  I just checked ALCOAST messages for the past 30 days, but didn't find anything.  I'll look again in a few more days.  It may be that PPC may not yet have received notification.

Thank you Chief. I actually saw the obit in the  USCG Retiree Newsletter. I would have thought that every posting had been vetted prior to its listing.
    I still await some word.

    Sir, an update

I've checked the more recent ALCOASTs, a national obituary website, and the VA cemetary website (though the CDR's passing may be too recent to be reflected here). The only thing I was able to turn up was his LinkedIn profile as the result of a Google search. I'm sorry I don't have better news
