Wednesday March 2 the Discovery channel show The Mighty Ships will be featuring the USCGC Bertholf on their show. I am hoping to catch a glimpse of my son!

Going to set the DVR right now! Thanks for that listing ahead of time. We always seem to post the "Guess what I watched last night" type of thing. LOL

bad news! It appears that the show will be on discovery channel CANADA! So the show about one of the state of the art USCGC is not available for us to watch here! Very disappointed! I thought I would get to see my son

Here is an update I received from Discover Channel Canada...3/3/11

"The Smithsonian Channel in the U.S. will air Mighty Ships season 3 and 4 back-to-back beginning August 2011.

The Bertholf episode will be posted on our website (Canadian site) next week however. "

I guess if you have DISH you may be able to see this sooner..my cable company doesn't offer Smithsonian channel either

I have direct tv and I LOVE the Smothsonian Channel!!! They have fabulous programming all the time. I'll be looking for this one! I always do a Coast Guard smart search. I'm sure I'll catch anything they put on. Thanks for the update... I know where to look.

So, let me get this right. If I move to Canada, I can watch a TV show about the U.S. Coast Guard? Sounds like a government operation to me.

I have a Direct TV dish attached to my house in the back yard. If I subscribe to Direct TV, where will I hang my garden hose? It does a remarkeable job in it's current function. I didn't know you could actually get television programming on it.

Well I contacted Discovery Channel Canada and at first they told me I would be able to view the episode on line but any time I tried to view a clip of anyshow I got an error message. I followed up with another email and this is the response I got today...

"Unfortunately, our site is geo-locked to Canada.

My best advice is to check your local listings or to contact Smithsonian directly.

    Thanks for the inquiry."
so who knows when we will be able to see it...my cable company does not have the Smithsonian Channel either

I recently switched cable tv providers....didn't get the Smithsonian channel before but I do now and the Bertholf episode airs October 23rd at 9:00 pm eastern time. I don't know if this is the first time they are showing it or if the series is being repeated but I thought I'd let everyone know, just in case you're interested in watching it.
