The crew and my son were re-fueling their H60 in Dutch Harbor tues. eve. When the call came to medevac a crewman with severe abdominal distress from the fishing vessel Sea Fisher about 170 north of DH.
When they got to Sea Fisher they lowered the basket and the crewman walk over, got in and was hoisted up.
My AST son gave him the necessary medical attention 'till they reached the hospital in Dutch Harbor. They all made it back safe to Kodiak the next day at 0300.
p.s. Yes there is AT&T cell service in Dutch Harbor and Coldbay.

Great to hear all was succesful and turned out well! :) Congrats on the first rescue... hate to say hopefully there will never be another, that means our fisherman and people on the sea are safe... but there will be more, let's hope they all have the same great outcome.

My son just pulled 2 guys and 7 dogs out of a helicopter crash at 4000ft in Seward AK.
They're on their way back to Cordova with pictures and video.
Soon as I get some I'll post them.
A few days ago my son and his friend shoot and killed a big black bear (18" from ear to ear measured over the skull). Skinned and quartered it, slam dunk in the freezer.
p.s. Yes there is AT&T cell phone service in Cordova Ak.
    The adventure continues.

Jimmy shot a black bear when we were living in Valdez. We had a good majority of it tuned into sausage... oh that was delicious!!! I could have eaten that every night.

Congratulations on the great rescue!  Fantastic, can't wait to see the pictures.  :)

    Yes, that was the rescue.
Thanx for giving me the link.
My son said those sled dogs were scared and pooped all over the place.
Just think 7 dogs being hoisted.
Thank God no one was hurt.
The hoist video was sent to someplace for evaluation.
    My son has some pictures.
When I get them I'll share them.

Glad to hear everything went well. I saw a picture of Erich over on the CG website from that rescue. Very cool! I don't think Nikole ever got a chance to contact him when she got back to Kodiak after being in the Bering. Too bad....it would have been interesting for them to meet up.

The hoist video camera did not work so good. .

Search "Erich Klingner" on Facebook. Plenty of pix.

Laurie. Erich will be in NJ in a week for two weeks. Then back to Kodiak and then to Texas for dessert training. Or is that desert. He'll be in AK for 2+ years.
