How is basic training for a prior service member?  I am in inactive reserve status (personal choice; school/work conflict) as an E-4 (Air Transportation, 2T251) and my enlistment is up in March of this year.  I have talked to a recruiter who told me I could get everything together and probably leave out in October.

Will I be in basic with the pipeline (new) students or other prior service members?  And how do they treat the prior service members?  I kind of expect extra duties (dorm chief/leader, etc) and more attention (made more of an example of)... Or are they more lenient and just leave you alone?  Just trying to get an idea of what to expect for prior service folks!

Basic is the same for prior service as it is for non prior service with one possible exception. You might be held to a higher standard, and be expected to take on a greater leadership role due to your experience.
