Currently an E-4 with a line number for E-5. Been in for three and a half years now. In Korea right now. MY AFSC is 2a6x6 Aircraft electrical and environmental specialist. I assume they would have a job like this for helicopters or any other type of aircraft the CG uses correct? As an E-4, IF my AFSC is on the open rate list would I have to go through all the schooling again? Thanks

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark, AET (look it up) is the closest rating we have to your MOS. It's not on the open rate list, so you'd have to process in like everyone else and come in as an E-3. Stay safe in Korea!

Gears is right, sounds similar to AET. For Coast Guard aviation we only have two maintenance positions, mechanics and electricians/electronics technicians. To add something though, AET and AMT are currently "critical" ratings so call a recruiter and ask, you may get lucky. Good luck!
