I'm in the process of building a scratch model of the "Old" Walnut (WAGL-252) as she was when sold to Honduras. I am looking for any pictures of the ship, deck layout, etc. I currently have construction plans for the CGC Fir, circa 1954, a sister ship of the Walnut, and am confident that the hull lines are the same, but the superstructure and buoy deck are totally different. I am currently working with the National Archives to get construction plans for the Walnut from 1970. (What a frustrating experience !!).

I'd very much appreciate hearing from any crew. Please post a reply, and we can exchange email.

By the way, if any of you are engaged in a similar project, and need plans, let me recommend the USCGC Museum Northwest, Seattle, WA. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and most helpful.

I don't have any pictures but will check. I played Tapscott as part of the decommissioning in Long Beach before going to Honduras.
