    good day everyone,

Just have a couple questions about being a HS at a PSU. I used to be with PSU 312 (plank owner) and was deployed with PACAREADET (pre-curser to 312) and was a BM. I got out in 2009 as tactical coxswain and having passed my BM2 exam... after going into the civilian world and doing nothing but ship board type work I’ve kind of hit a wall with working on ships in the deckhand/captain capacity.  I’m currently finishing my degree and pre-occupational therapy studies with a start date for my masters program for occupational therapy in January. Currently talking with the Coast Guard recruiter about coming back in as a reservist most likely back at PSU 312. However I’m looking to switch rates as I don’t think or want  to be a BM any longer   I was told recently that an HS position just opened up at PSU 312 I was just looking for some information in regards to anyone who has an idea of when an HS does a PSU. I imagine a lot of it is making sure medical files are sorted and everyone has their current shots and or deployable ready. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you and hope everyone has a great day.

The HS billet at a PSU is mostly independent duty, I'm not sure they would assign a HS3 to a PSU. Although, the PSU's are really really hurting for HS's right now so you never know.
