Thanks for all the help over the past weeks, I just heard from my recruiter and everything came back ok from MEPS and I scored high on the ASVAB and qualified for a lot. My Recruiter is putting a request in @ the unit nearby (Wash, DC) and asked what ratings I wanted (I wanted Maritime Enforcement, Investigator or a Port Security Rating, but they were not available). I really want to get out there and see action and get my hands dirty so to speak. Mainly be able to operate boats and be involved with the Law enforcement side of things at times too. (Non desk type tasks)  I chose:

    #1 Boatswains Mate
    #2 Intelligence Specialist.

I figured as a BM I would be able to get sailing experience and law enforcement experience but someone told me I would be more maintenance oriented with this rating like chipping paint etc..... But Intelligence looked good because it dealt with counter-terrorism type tasks....I have read the descriptions and everything but was hoping someone with experience could tell me what I am getting into....thanks in advance for your help!

Look at the Jobs and school forum on this website. You can ask directly under the rates you are interested in..
