What is a realistic billet for people in the DCE pool and where do they typically get assigned?

its usually 90% DC area, st Louis, and Portsmouth Virginia billets with a few others sprinkled in from all over the US. bet on tiscom or c3cen (Alexandria VA/ Portsmouth VA)

Was just chosen through the last DCE board and am stationed at the CG Yard in Baltimore as a Civil Engineer.

What was the location distribution like? Was it mostly DC area billets?

For C5I.. DC, Alexandria, VA, Martinsburg, WV, Portsmouth, VA, Norfolk, VA, Oakland, CA, St louis, MS, Moorestown, NJ, and possible any Base C4IT department (there is one in each district).

Did anyone get their first pick or was it somewhere in the middle of their ranking?

Does anyone know the typical turn around time for a detailer to contact you with possible assignments. I was just picked for the DCE board results released this June and wanted to manage expectations on when I will be contacted with further information.

I'm in the same position too and I feel like the consensus is that we won't hear anything unless they need paperwork from us and if not then expect some communication in Oct/Nov. I hear it's typically about a month before commission that we hear anything.
