I am currently an E-3 (nonrate) and have been out of basic for about a 1 1/2 years. My WPB is dual-crew, and it is going to XXXXXX. Our crew is being XXXXXXXX and since I am still on the IS A School waiting list, I am being transferred to another unit. I had the special opportunity to pick anywhere I wanted to go (even if the unit was fully billeted).
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had to do this (or should I say, gotten this chance)?

Yes, I did do this once and it turned out great.  I ended up at Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii.

Unit names and old crew are okay. Vessel movements and operational plans are not. I editted the OP's post. Thanks, Guns!

Since that post is almost 2 years old, I would venture to guess OPSEC just wouldn't apply any longer. That WPB has come and gone a million times since that was originally posted.

Good point. I feel better having it edited though.

We have a strange pattern with people resurrecting threads that are several years old lately. Perhaps they should check the dates of the last post first. In most cases, the OP is long gone.

I'm thinking about posting on the thread discussing the pros and cons of the new tucked-in ODUs.

I was thinking the same thing... someone posts 4 years ago... "I leave for bootcamp tomorrow, should I bring socks." It's their only post and now someone responds. LOL But I guess if someone has the same question or someone else has an answer... what the heck! But it is odd.

I heard we're going to bib overalls. But, that might just be a vicious rumor.

Bells, see my paragraph above that statement. It was sarcasm lol. The tucked-in ODUs were introduced in 2003-2004.
