I am a very proud aunt & saddened at the same time.  My nephew will be leaving on 4-12-11 for Cape May.  I've been reading tons of posts on here, trying to get an idea of what his life is going to be like at boot camp, loving the stories & such.  I'd like to say thank you to everyone involved in this community, seems to be such a big family to be a part of.  This is my first experience with someone close to me joining the military, so I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.  I've been letting his mom know of some things as well on here since she doesn't have internet access right now, so it'll put us both at ease.  God Bless & thank you again.

Thanks everyone, just found out that his date has been moved because some mess up with the paperwork..He now leaves the 26th. I do have another question though, I'm gonna get him a prepaid phone card, & I've never bought one before, is there a good recommendation on what I should look for in buying one? There are so many out there, its a little confusing, lol

Now I just found out that the recruit forgot to turn something in & his date has been moved again...to May 10th...kinda crazy! so now need a new graduation date, for this one....LOL...'Old Guard 2' can ya help me out again? lol

July 1st! Tell your nephew I can't take it, he has to stick with this date! And in this case start booking hotels NOW! Jersey shore and hotels for the 4th of July weekend... book now!

Yeah I'm a nervous wreck lol...& now knowing its gonna be that weekend, yikes! that's a long drive & the roads are gonna be packed! Me & his mom are gonna be sharing anxiety meds the whole way there LMBO!

After he's done with his training lets ride over to Dauphin Street and knock back a few! LOL. tell him congrats and welcome aboard!!

Thanks Old Guard...we're fine here in south bama....but we had so much devastation on the North side of the state, I just pray for all those that lost their homes & families! Luckily the family & friends I have are ok...I have people in North MS, North AL & TN Thank you Lord for keeping them safe!!!

I'm so glad to hear you are safe. I saw that on the news last night I know you're Gulf Shores area but still... glad to know you are still here with us and unscathed!

Some nasty weather all around this year...

This spring has been great for my industry but damn its been awful for people! Loss of life is not something anyone in my industry ever wishes for!!! A few damaged shingles so we can sell some, that's ok... this is just destruction and not good at all.

Thank you for the thoughts & well wishes....us here in Mobile have been & will for a while be collecting stuff for the victims & giving blood & such to send north..please keep the prayers going, so much loss & devastation, so sad! After all the nasty storms, & next month we have Hurricane season starting. Just Pray that if we do get some storms they won't head north & hit them folks again. Thank you to everyone for everything! & Old Guard, I know what ya mean..God Bless yall!

Well, my nephew boarded the plane in New Orleans yesterday & is up there now.....best of luck to all yall future Coasties!

I am sure he will be having the time of his life during his 8 week vacation at resort Cape May.
