    Okay, contemplative mood this morning, One of my favorite thought provoking movies (modern) is the matrix, which reminded me of the line between Morpheus and Neo;

    This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

    So which is it? Do you choose blue or red and why? Try to give some detail on your thoughts!
    I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted Coastie, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

    I actually correlated that particular scene with my decision to enlist. I have partaken of the SYMBOLIC red pill many times. At this point in my life the SYMBOLIC blue pill is not an option. The blue pill signifies settling for the status quo. Wake up, eat breakfast, comb what's left of your hair, go to work, repeat ad nauseum. I'm just not the type who wants to settle down, and become a regular at the Order of the Royal Water Buffalo Lodge, no matter how awesome the hats are.

    The red pill, means leaving your comfort zone, taking that first step into the great unknown. I can't think of a better feeling than stepping into a situation, and saying to myself, "My God... what have I done?" The challenges, the turmoil, the failures, the victories, all make it worthwhile. In my experience, when you're on the fence about a decision, go down the path you have the hardest time seeing yourself on.. and start digging your own rabbit hole for others to follow.

    Good one Chukles...

    Let's see... gave up college and moved to Alaska 4000 miles from home to marry a guy. Moved around the country like a hobo until I decided I couldn't do it anymore. Bought a car and lived in it because I had no money & no place to go. Moved across country again. Got a job, moved back across country, tried my hand at different things, including becoming a commercial truck driver. Got a different job... moved to Texas, moved to Wisconsin, contemplating moving back to Texas at this time... Red pill!!! Always red pill!!! Life is too exciting and you never know what adventure is down that rabbit hole... Go for the Red!

    The Matrix was an awesome movie...I thoroughly enjoyed it many times over! My wife cannot stand it at all and says I am weird, funny thing is I have never known her to be wrong. HAHAHAHA

    “I know Kung Fu” classic line.

    At times the red pill is the way to go, but the comfort of the blue pill is not bad at times either…so maybe a Purple Pill or a PP :-)

    I want to finally set it free, So show me how to see what Your mercy sees, Help me now to give what You gave to me...Forgiveness, Forgiveness

    I also don't like the movie. Not my bag of stones. So, I don't know what scene chuckles is talking about but I'm going to say blue for me. While red sounds enticing, there is something alluring about mystery and uncertainty, I prefer the security of what I know and what I create my environment to be. Maybe I'm a boring person.....

    I wouldn't say that. It sounds like you're a steady person whole likes to think things through, sort of the Captain Picard to my Han Solo (if that doesn't make sense, defer to the Star Wars vs Star Trek thread).

    Everyone should defer to that thread.

    Red pill all the way. I don't care how comfortable it may be, if I'm not pressing to be better, there's no point.

    I think the great majority will answer red pill... come on, in some way or another we are either in, related to or in love with someone in the military... If that isn't "red pill" down the rabbit hole, never knowing what's around the next turn, what is?!?!?! I think you almost have to have a little red pill thinking to consider the military as a way of life. Even if that is as a reservist, an active duty member, a soupse or a parent...

    HI5 Roe, I'm a relentlessly self-improving, narcissistic, over achieving, borderline ego-maniac too!
