I'm still debating what rate I want. I initially wanted ME, but I'm told they don't do too much law enforcement and that I'd be better off doing BM instead... but I guess I have plenty of time to figure it out. I definitely want to get involved with drug or immigration interdiction. What about you? What made you decide to join?

Out of curiosity, who told you ME doesn't do much law enforcement?

Im looking forward to become an OS, I really like the coast guard missions, specially the search and rescue one, but at the same time I want to be part of a law enforcement agency and watch our coast and keep our nation safe.

My recruiter mentioned that MEs tend to provide more law enforcement training to others, rather than actually practicing law enforcement, and that BM and MK do a lot of the everyday law enforcement. I've also read that in several places online.

Im nervous about boot camp, but definitively more nervous about joining coast guard in general. And I know! Time is flying, just 4 months left, a little bit.
