We just got an updated projection list for A schools and I was very suprised at the big change from most schools being 24 months or over to the point now where there is no wait for FS and less than 6 months for AST with most others now less than 12 months. Only the regular holdouts, HS, IS, ME, MST, and PA are over 24 months now. Not sure if CRSP is the reason or not but that is some significant change.

If they're going to A school faster won't they be stuck as a third longer while competing with all the people who waited 24 months?

This may be the first sign of good things to come..

Let's hope, Gears. I'm praying things will be somewhat turned around by the time I go in. Where do you guys think the wait will be for things like AMT and AET in a couple years?

Wow, that would be a great change if it starte effecting all rates. My Son is looking at MST once quals are done and more then 24 months before you can even get in class can weigh on you, not to mention advancement to E4.

Not if they study harder and get better evaluations.  I am making E-7, and I was competing against people with 20 years in the job, compared to my 12.  You can overcome anything by writing the best test score, and working your butt off to get great marks.  The only obstacles when it comes to advancement are time in grade, sea time, and qualifications.  Other than that, it's completely up to you, the member.
You can meet the standard, or you can set the standard. It's your choice.

I totally read that question wrong E. I am glad Cooch gave you a better answer. He is dead on. I have seen many 3rds excel to the point where they have made PO1 before some of the PO2s that were in charge of them.
