Got confirmed today! Not as early as I had hoped, but right now I'm just psyched that I have a date on a calendar I can point to! Seems like a long ways off, but at least I don't have to speculate anymore. Now I just gotta find some more gainful emplyment than what I do now so I can pay those college loans when they rear their ugly heads in November. Anyways, I'll be shipping out of Nashville, Tennessee. |

I suppose I should have listed this under Feb. 6 I did Feb 7 because I live so close to my recruiting office, MEPS, and the airport I'll be flying out of. No hotel for me! |

Have my Helmsman and have been studying, running, swimming, and working out non-stop! The only part about boot camp I'm worried about? Not being able to eat constantly throughout the day like I do now! |

been hitting the required knowledge on my phone (flashcard app). The hardest part for me has been replacing "non-commissioned officer" with "petty officer" and other such differences from my days in MCJROTC. I memorized those specific general orders for four years so trying to remember to change one or two words sucks. Other than that, been running and getting my body used to calisthenic exercises again. Think though guys, now that the beginning is getting so close, graduation is also that much closer.

definitely getting nervous! I almost think it'll be a weird sort of relief once we all get there, no more time to be nervous! |

It will be a relief! No time to stress and we'll finally know what is actually going on, rather than wondering/anticipating what is going to happen! |

question Mobettablues: on what day is your birthday? I'm sure the rest of us are gonna have to celebrate alongside you, so I'd like to know which day to brace myself for |

Is anyone bringing long johns? I know it's been a warm winter, but knowing my luck and my hatred for the cold, the temp will drop as soon as we get there... |

I've been keeping up with the weather in Cape May and looking at the forecast for our first week or so there. It's been consistently in the mid to low forties, which from my experience doesn't necessitate long underwear (I've been known to go hunting with temperatures in the teens). At night though, it seems to drop to freezing regularly. I bought myself a new set of white long underwear, top and bottom, four bucks each. It's two more things to worry about stowing correctly but I'm a skinny guy, so if it gets much colder there I want to be ready. That and, I really just needed a new pair of non-underarmour long johns. |

From what I've read on here, you don't really need the tops (because of the heavy jackets, etc); I think I'm just going to stick to a pair or two of long underwear bottoms. And I'd much rather have them with me if I need them and have to stow them correctly than not have them and freeze! |

Master, I'm not completely sure... please check on the fact that those bad boys are white. I thought the standard was dark blue but I could very well be wrong! Please check before you take it and have to stow it with civilian gear because only dark blue is allowed. I really can't remember... Macie |
