There doesn't appear to be a thread for us, so I figured I'd start one!

My husband was reverted a week, he started out in X-Ray. Letter I got today said the graduation is on Thursday the 22nd, instead of Friday.

Its going to make for an interesting Christmas!

Do a lot of you have travel plans?

Journals don't start until week 3. So if that company is just only entering week 3 you'll see the first one this week. Sorry about the extra time but not to worry, a lot of recruits get reverted or rephased. It's all good. Anyone can do boot camp in 8 weeks, it takes someone special to do it 9. Just keep your letters upbeat & encouraging.

As far as I know they are only allowed to read and write letters on sunday. For me is not much fun because my husband wants me to write him everyday, but if i send letters after wednesday, they won't be there for him to read on sunday. Plus by the time he writes back, I receive his letters normally on thursdays. It gets frustrating sometimes because what you might've asked him a question and if it didn't get there on sunday, then you would have to wait a whole week.

The letters aren't really for conversation purposes. They are for love, support, knowing that you are still behind him and will be there through thick and thin. The timing of sending, receiving, answering just does not matter. All questions will be answered when he gets home. Just write him every day, it is a simple request, takes virtually no effort on your part and will bring a smile to his face just hearing his name called at mail call.

I write my husband every day but for some reason I have this huge fear that he is going to write me back and tell me he doesnt ever want to see me again and doesnt love me. I know its crazy but is this normal to feel this way since I havent heard from him in so long?

For all people, no, that isn't a normal feeling. For some people, sure it is. I thought for sure Jim was just going to go on his merry way without me after boot camp. We lived in NJ when he was in boot camp so when he got his off base liberty at week 7 I drove down there. Back then they actually got 24 hours liberty. I was parked across a baseball field from the barracks, just waiting. Well here comes this Coastie across the field. I was actually arguing in my own head with myself... "That's Jim. No it isn't. Yes it is, that's him. That's not him, he is totally different from Jimmy." Then this Coastie just grabbed me, kissed me, hugged me so tight, grabbed the keys to his jeep and off we went together.

Point to the story... I had my doubts too! It was a LOOOOONG 7 weeks and I missed him so much. But the second we touched, kissed, hugged, saw each other all those fears just washed right away. They will for you, too! I promise!!

They only WRITE on Sundays. They can receive mail all days... IF they have earned it. The CC's can decide not to give them their mail if they have not earned it. Mail call is a privilege, not a right. Most CC's will not hold it but if there is a reason, they might. That means he could end up getting 5 letters in one day and then going 2 or 3 days with nothing. But that is ok... just hearing your name called is almost better than the letter itself.
