Actually the sunsets really are amazing out here.

I lived in Ft Worth, Texas... I MISS our sunsets so much! I took some incredible pictures of Texas sunsets. Not so much here in Wisconsin, at least not where I live in Wisconsin. I do want to get some sunrise pictures over Lake Madison. That means getting up someday at 3 in the morning and driving to the lake before sunrise! That might be a little tough on this old girl! LOL

No kidding? I grew up in North Richland Hills just outside of Ft. Worth. Miss the hell out of it.

One of my all time favorite restaurants is in N Richland Hills... Hoffbrau House. I live in Wisconsin now... they have NO CLUE what a good steak is! One of my dearest friends lives in NRH. She is always asking me when I'm coming home and she let's me know about houses for rent in the neighborhood! LOL I lived on the Saginaw side of Ft Worth. I really do miss it.

Love PPC. Lots of YNs to work with for advancement, great work hours, great command, great shipmates, duty is a joke. Worst thing, if you can even call it that, is driving 3+ hours for the occasional funeral detail. Hope I get a second tour here down the line.

The Hoffbrau House is my Memaws favorite steak house . But what I miss is the Busy B's donut shop on denton hwy.

I gave up donuts for kolaches! Those little things are so delicious! Can't find them anywhere around here. That makes me so sad.

Did you ever go to Hard 8 in Stephenville? OMG, the poppers were worth driving there this weekend from Wisconsin! I have attempted my best to recreate them and I can come pretty close but no cigar. Then of course there is Eatzi's in Dallas and the Thai Beef salad. Damn, I have to transfer back to Texas! LOL Plus I miss shopping at Sheplers for new boots.

Never been to any of those places. You ever try Trial Dust in Dallas? Or any of the BBQ places at the Ft. Worth Stockyards?

The one in Dallas I don't know. In the stockyards I ate at Lonesome Dove, The Love Shack, White Elephant, Riscky's BBQ, Cattleman's and of course Billy Bob's for concerts! (I spent a lot of time in the Stockyards because they were so close to our house!) But the 2 best for guacamole were H3 in the Stockyards and Fresco on Denton Highway. Both of those were so delicious.

Our favorite hole in the wall was El Ranchito in White Settlement. They had such good taco salad! OMG, I need to go back to Texas! LOL

Check the PPC website under the ADV branch. If it is out it will be there. Oh and for everyone who is always begging for the lists, there are only 8 people in ADV so it takes them a while to go through every rate and rank. They are busy and hard working.

It wasnt out tuesday and really dont plan on the advancement list for the servicewide will probably not be out until mid january. if it is out before that i will be happy if it comes out in the end of january i will still be happy. It is what it is as we all know it is a hurry up and wait thing.

Ok from what I heard on the Grapevine there might be a list out in Jan.

I figured it would be Jan and i would love to see it for christmas but since everyone is about to go on Holiday routine is starting. I am just happy to see the BAH this time it went up.

Macie, none of the places we had lunch are in your list, I am hurt, devastated, crushed... :-) :-) :-) lol. You should camp out at the lake for that sunrise picture.

Well we didn't have lunch in the stockyards!!! LOL What was the one place we went and sat there until dinner? That was really good. I can see the building clear as a bell, I could even drive there right now if I had to but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.

I just tried getting a picture of our resident woodpecker in the backyard but he flew off as I was changing to my telephoto lens. He'll be back, he is out there a lot. Just the sky was a perfect blue this morning. Drats.

The flying fish if I am recalling correctly...very fun talks for sure.

That was it!! LOL I couldn't remember for the life of me. We'll have to meet there again one day.

Ok new word on the grapevine is that the lists should be out by the end of this month.

They just sent out the email 12/27 @1400 CST. Doesn't look like they have updated the website.

what good does that do to me. hopefully it will be out sunday when i walk into work or tomorrow morning when i get there for a bit. my profile letter wasnt even out yet.
