Yes, its really a booth. Depending on where you go, set up can vary. We have 3 booths here. Sliding glass doors and all so we can't hear the other radios and frequencies we are guarding at any given time. Right now I'm talking to aircraft, next I'll be listening for distress calls. I do enjoy my job, fishbowl and all. But there are no windows because we are in a secret compartment so we just get to watch outside on camera. I made it outside yesterday because we needed food! We mostly here static and foreign voices on the radio. But after a while you just know which static sound comes from what frequency (yes, they do sound different) and you get really good at hearing the most faint of things through really loud static. 90% bordem, 10% crazy. I have had some weird calls (none distress) the past few days haha. Just imagine sitting in a sound proof room all alone listening to several different music stations that aren't really coming in all that well. Then if something important happens, knowing how to tune in.
