    Hey guys. I tried looking to see if this specific question has been asked before but have come up with nothing. I will be moving to Mesa, AZ in a few weeks but have been looking at joining the USCG Reserves for some time now. In case you aren't aware, Arizona is just a tad bit land locked. Will moving kill my chances of getting in? Or will I be able to join up with an out of state reserve unit? Thanks in advance for your help.

    You will have to do your weekend drill out of LA or San Diego I would believe. You can probably go through the Phoenix recruiter, but there is no reserve anywhere near you, besides the California coast.

    I imagined I would be heading to the California coast to drill. Just wasn't sure if the CG would entertain that commute. Thanks for the info.
