It's all an act by the CCs. A friend of mine went on to be a CC as an E-6, nicest guy you'd ever meet. He enjoyed it but didn't like the hours - very long. He said he rarely saw his wife and kids for the duration of stewarding a company through their paces. It's not an easy job and they must play the part perfectly or they lose their position as CCs.
Only the most squared away are chosen, it's an elite position for enlisted personnel.
Oh, and when you graduate -- the CCs might, operative word, get a week or so break before picking up their next company. It's not an easy job by any means.
You have every reason to respect them. They work hard and have earned it, as have each of you who graduate.
