Have a nook and curious if anyone has the hunger games that they could lend to me! My Daughter invited me to her book club!
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted Coastie, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

I have the Kindle version I'd be happy to loan. Not sure if it would with a Nook though.

Are you going to read the Twilight series and the Babysitters Club as well Chuck? Maybe you can read the Ramona and Sweet Valley High series too.

Don't act like you've never read it before, curled up with your pillow pet.

Hunger Games /= Twilight. Twilight is basically about how important it is to have a boyfriend that stalks, controls, and abuses you. Really not a fan, can you tell?

You seem to know an awful lot about those books. Just sayin'.

Twilight is basically about how important it is to have a boyfriend that stalks, controls, and abuses you.

It's also about not smiling. Ever. For any reason esp in the presence of puppies.

I have an alibi. I had to ask my wife for some girl book titles. She can verify this statement.

It's okay. I'm not judging. It's just not my thing.

Don't get me started. We're gonna have to create a new thread for that discussion.

The "Harry Potter's" were a good read by the warm fire of a shadowy room...

Sorry, I am of no help Chuck.

Well I thought the Hunger Games series was fantastic and NOT at all like Twilight. Quite a bit darker too in later books.
I also suggest Good Omens as well as American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Fight Club is always a winner. And shockingly enough Abraham Lincon: Vampire Hunter was very good as well.

My father is a Lincoln impersonator. He has been all over the eastern seaboard portraying Lincoln and he is highly regarded by most as one of the best out there. He was asked to play the part of Lincoln in that movie. Sadly dear old dad is 70 and the hopping on desks, weilding an ax and just the "image" that could portray for him, he had to refuse the part. He was flattered and a bit sad but he also knew that he couldn't do the part for many levels of reason. But we did enjoy the book!

I'm not sure he has seen the preview yet... I want to go see it when it hits the theaters. I think that is in the next couple of weeks, isn't it?? I' msure he will get a kick out of it. But I'm pretty certain he will wait until it is on HBO before he watches it. LOL
