Does anybody know much about the Special Mission Training Center, and how you apply/ or get selected for such a thing? |

You would select it on your dream sheet once you are a Petty Officer. The primary ratings that are assigned there are BM, ME, MK, and some support ratings. They train members of the CG on being a tactical coxswain, as well as other missions. |

Are PCS members basically instructors then? |

Most are, but there's a command and support staff as well. |

You have to be at a unit that has the need for tactical coxswains, and then you yourself need to be in a coxswain billet. Your unit decides who gets sent to the training. |

More specifically, you will have to have to be a BM at a Small Boat Station (other units may qualify) who is Cox'n qualified and needs to attend Tactical Cox'n School. |

You would be in an aviation rating and list it on your dream sheet come transfer time. It would also be something that is well down the road. |

Hitron is hard to get to for the aviators because its saught out for its higher priority ranking. I think its a 3 and most aviation units are a 4 or 5. |

So you would reach a HITRON unit through AST not ME?
Bells, what do you mean it's a 3, and most are 4 or 5?
(sorry for all the pesky questions guys. I can't really find much online about it other than just the facts of the operation.) |

AST, AMT, or AVT yes. ME's are not gunners on the HITRON aircraft. Bells is talking about assignment priority. That's something you will learn about one you're in.
