So I was discharged for having too many " visual cavities " its okay. I'm in the process of getting them fixed and will be back at cape may before you know it. I'm doing the CG Auxillary until I get back=D

I swear we went shopping this morning and I picked up a couple of cards to send to you. I'm sorry that this has thrown up a road block but I know you will get back there. Keep talking with us and we will keep encouraging you. Then when you go back, I'll send those cards!

No way...so sorry to hear this. I had letters in the mail for you. So after you get your cavities squared away you are eligible again. Keep us posted.

    Just curious.
I know it's been a long time since this was posted,
but my husband was just discharged for cavities as well. SO frustrating, given we didn't know there was a numerical limit of cavities.
Even his recruiter told us not to worry about it and wait until he got there.....annnnd he's coming home. Haha! But it's going to be okay, he is super driven and said he's going to do this, no matter how long it takes.
We have an appointment for him to fix them as soon as he gets back, and the recruiter seems hopeful that it will be a fairly quick return to Cape May. He says there's not a "wait time" for healing from getting the cavities filled, he just has to go to MEPS again and basically, re-enlist. He also said he doesn't have to do DEP again.
But has anyone gotten back in after being discharged for cavities with an RE3?

How quickly was the process? I know it's not concrete for everyone. But I'm just looking for ideas of what I could possibly expect.
This is my husbands dream, AND mine now, so I want to be as educated as possible

    Thanks in advance!

The RE3 code bars him from reenlisting. But as soon as he gets the cavities taken care of, the recruiter submits the paperwork, that updates to an RE1 and all should start moving. The only wait time will be how long it takes to get a ship date. I'm really sorry you and your husband weren't aware of the cavity thing. He could have had them fixed prior to going and all would be ok. But I doubt all is lost and he will be back in boot camp in no time. There is no way to guesstimate how long that might be though.

Goodness. Thank you for the positive words.
This has been so frustrating. We definitely planned to get it fixed before hand but were told no numerical limits.
BUT it's okay. This makes me feel a little better about it.

Can't wait to get this started up again! Thank you for helping.

You were horribly misinformed. The recruiter (should) have known the max amount. I have had recruits at the dentist getting them filled literally 24 hours before they were going to leave to Cape May. Sorry this happened.
