    Hello,
I was just wondering if there was any advice out there for what path I should take to become a CG Officer because my undergrad grades are 2.45. I was thinking about enlisting and working my way up from there but I was also wondering if I took a couple of grad courses and got A's in them if that would help, or would it really not be seen as anything because it is not part of a degree? Grades are really the only thing holding me back...is there anything I can do? Any positive advice is appreciated thanks so much!

Well, I know personally I have two undergrad degrees, a B.A. and a B.S., and a 3.4 GPA from a respected school. I was told it would still be a difficult, competitive process if I wanted to go OCS even with that background. Sorry that doesn't help directly much, but perhaps it helps put things into perspective. But I'm sure someone else here can give you a more factual answer.

Okay, so this year was my first time applying to OCS and I made alternate. OCS is INSANELY hard to get into as a civilian, so honestly my suggestion would be to apply and see what happens and if you don't get in then enlist and apply again when you can apply OCS-T (at least E-5 with 4 years in). Others may say to keep trying as a civilian, but if it's the CG you care about and not only being an officer, I'd say enlist now. I've been in since March and I'm loving the CG life. BUT, if you want to apply OCS, message me and I'll help you as much as possible.

If you already have a bachelors and you enlist, you would apply for OCS-R still, and you can apply as soon as you join.
You can meet the standard, or you can set the standard. It's your choice.

Yes, sorry for not clarifying that. Thanks Cooch. While enlisted you can continue to apply for OCS-R, then if you still haven't gotten in within the 4 years/E-5 you can switch to applying OCS-T.

Thanks so much for your time! I think I am going to enlist first and see were that takes me while still applying for OCS. Once your actually in the CG is the GPA less relevant to the selection process? I really just want to be a part of the CG so if I have to wait a few years to get into OCS I can do that
