    Hi,

    I am new to this forum and was hoping to get some information regarding the US Coast Gaurd.

    Currently, I am a Design Student at Art Center College of Design and am working on designing conceptual rescue equipment for rescue scenarios.

    More specifically, I was interested in ocean rescue situations involving divers.

    1. What type of gear does a rescue diver use and what are some of the problems associated with the gear? Room for improvement?

    2. What does it take to become a rescue diver?

    3. What are some of the hazards during a rescue operation?

    4. If there could be a so called "miracle tool" for rescue, what would one want it be?

    I have more questions, but I would appreciate any help i can get on this subject.
