    1. Is this bag okay to take too boot camp? And if so, would I be able to carry it with me on the plane?

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41KbjD0ZouL._SS500_.jpg

    It's dimensions are 27 x 16 x 2 inches

    2. I have a question regarding shaving razors: Will I be allowed to bring extra cartridges for the razor?

Should be alright. Make sure you are able to put your name on it somehow.

Yes, you can bring extra cartridges.

Be cautious with the cartridges. I don't let me apps ship with them because Charlotte MEPS makes them toss them in the garbage. Best bet is to buy them when you get there.

    What?
Why would they tell you it's ok to bring a cartridge-type razor and not let you being the cartridges? Those things are expensive!

It's a MEPS issue. I've argued with them on numerous occasions, but haven't had any success. They claim that TSA won't allow it in a carry on bag, only in checked luggage. I've shown them the TSA guidelines, but they don't budge from their position. Better to buy them there instead of tossing them in the trash and wasting money.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I'll play it on the safe side and just buy the razors/shaving equipment once I arrive to bootcamp.

Or, have your family attend your ship day and give you the cartridges when you leave MEPS to go to the airport.

Some airlines will not let you have razors in a carry on.

According to TSA, safety disposable razors are permitted with carry on. (disposable razors and their cartridges are permitted)

I tried telling MEPS that as well. They still made our applicants dispose of them before they would let them leave the building. You could always just hand them to a family member, who could then hand them back once you're outside the building. I'm not a big fan of breaking the rules, but since there's no rules to be broken other than some civilian employee on a power trip, all is good.

I work for TSA (as much as I hate to admit it lol), and I have never ever seen multi blade cartridge razors getting taken away. The only ones that are not allowed are oldschool single blade saftey razors because the blade is so easilly taken out.
