    I am currently located in Harvest Alabama and the closest recruiter to me is in Nashville Tennessee.
    I have called several times in the past week and still no reply. I've left one voicemail (I didn't want to annoy them...) but still no reply. I sent an e-mail about an hour ago so we'll see how that goes.
    I'm trying to find out if the recruiting office is even open and times it will be open. 
    I've heard rumors that a lot of recruiting offices are closing and that the Coast Guard won't even be recruiting for a long while because they are too full....
    Is it like this with all branches of the military, or just the Coast Guard? Replies are thanked.

    It's similar in all branches, but the CG has been affected the most. The CG recruiting offices don't accept walk-ins, so keep trying to contact them to request an application.
    You can meet the standard, or you can set the standard. It's your choice.

    I just graduated High School in May, got an 88 on the ASVAB, 18 years old. Do you think the chances of me getting in are good?

    The asvab score is good. It's impossible to tell what your chances are though. I would have to know the competition that you're up against. We look for a lot of things in applicants. Luckily for you, the asvab score is one of those things. Good luck.

    You can leave more than one voice mail. That is fine, it won't be pest-y. Keep in mind it is summertime... recruiters have families and take leave (vacation) so the office might be running a bit short staffed. Also, they are shipping people so they might be helping those that are currently going. Not to mention it is transfer season. So again, one guy may have transferred and the new guy hasn't yet arrived. Recruiters are very taxed, be patient... they'll get to you. Best of luck.
