I'm a Canadian citizen with a Canadian vessel and travel in Canadian waters near the US border as this is where I live. Neighbours on my island have reported that the US Coast has been pulling over Canadians in Canada here. I realize that our two countries have an agreement to allow this and the Canadians can pull over US vessels in US waters near the border, but my question is:

1. If I am pulled over in Canada by US coast Guard, what are my rights?
2. Where and where not on my vessel or person can they search?

I would agree with gears on this and also when you call the sector i would ask for the enforcement shop when you call.

USCG vessels that stop vessels in Canada have a Canadian counterpart on board. With that, the US crew along with the Canadian LE officer act like candadian LE Officers and you have the same rights as you do if stopped by a canadian vessel.
