Hello families and friends of Bravo 187. The company arrived on Tuesday and began their indoc weekend today. Around 3pm today they met their Company Commanders and have really begun their Coast Guard training. If anyone has any questions do not hesitate to post them here, we are happy to help. The days are long, but the weeks go by fast. ~Tiffany |

I have been checking the Training Center website but there is no update on their Hall. If you happen to have that, it would be great if you could post it and I'll update my 2 threads with that info. Thanks Tiffany. Macie |

Thank you. I updated the thread. I'm not sure why the training center website hasn't been updated? I guess someone must be on vacation. |

A parent of one of my apps received her first letter today, so to the parents, they should be coming soon! |

I am the parent of one of the recruits. We received the official form letters in the mail. On the bright side we also received a post card from our daughter. As I understand it by reading the letters, the company will not get phone priviledges until after week 5. Is that correct? V/R LMJ |

They will make a call in week 5 with their assignment as to where they will be stationed. This is a short (about 3 minutes) very formal phone call. Then on Saturday of weeks 6 and 7 (if earned) the recruits will have liberty and be able to use their cell phones. Week 6 they have on-base liberty from about 3-8pm and on Saturday of Week 7 they have off-base liberty from about 9am-9pm. |

The week 5 phone call... Please be prepared to listen and write. As Tiffany says the call is short, professional, almost somewhat impersonal. They are being listened to and being watched by their CC's. Your child will call you ma'am and they will tell you where they are being assigned. This is the time for a parent to listen... Then come here and ask us questions about the assignment if you like. Week 6 and week 7 are far more relaxed, not monitored and that is the time for telephone hugs and kisses and conversation and laughter and whatever else. |

Yes; the recruit will make a brief call to whomever they need to notify of the new development. |

Yes, the recruits get to call if there is a change in their graduation date. "no news is good news" |
