Okay so I have a hiring interview with the Coast Guard in Denver on the 21st of August. This is my second interview, and on the first interview they told me I was a good candidate but they didn't have any openings yet, they would have me come down once they received their FIYs.
I got a 95 on my ASVAB, and have 37 college credits. They weren't very good grades, but my major was Aerospace Engineering (literally rocket science) at Virginia Tech.
I did have an interview on the 31st of July, but the recruiter called me a week before and pushed it back 3 weeks to the 21st of June. I live 4 hours away from Denver, and they know this.
I am currently in Navy DEP, have a rescue swimmer contract for the Navy that was really tough to qualify for, but I would rather be a rescue swimmer in the Coast Guard, so I informed recruiters on both ends of my wish to be dis-enrolled from Navy DEP if the Coast Guard accepts me.
Would they bother to have me come down for a second interview if they weren't going to hire me? I'm really worried.
