I have an excuse. I work in a windowless room for 12 hours a day with the SAME 5 PEOPLE. Literally, I spend half my life in a box with men.

At least our SK is female now. So when I work days and the admin, command, ITs and ETs are all around, I am not the only girl with...oh 30 men.

I have an excuse. I spent the first ten years of my career fighting to keep our fleet running in top condition. The exposure to loud noise and petro-based chemicals with the added stress of dealing with BMs.
Now I'm recruiting and on a constant search for the best of the best of the best people I can find, and I'm watching them become BMs.

Hey, you should never need an excuse to go off on a Shaun of the Dead/zombies tangent.

Gears wins. I do not have to deal with BMs, which is a perk of the job.

I might however come next year. It's boat life for me...Maybe. I think. I haven't decided yet.

Colin loves boat life. Being on solid ground since February is killing him. He can't wait for the Midgett to get underway.

I have a very lengthy list of pros for boat life, but the con is getting me. After doing this tour stationed away from my husbad, I really just don't know if I want to get on a boat right away. It would be nice, to you know, see him. He's all for me getting underway though. It's coming down to how long I see myself staying in - if this is going to be a career, I need to get on a cutter.

Always best to do the cutter thing, decide to stay in and know Chief is a very good possibility! Don't do the cutter thing, thinking maybe I'm getting out, decide to stay and then fight to get a billet as a 1st to be able to have that seatime requirement... Yikes! But I understand wanting to spend time with the better half! That's important, too. especially since the 2 of you are 3 time zones apart for the majority of your married life at this point! Time for a little face to face time!

That is the problem.  

Not a fan. I like one or two zombie movies, but that's about it. I don't get the obsession.

I've actually been hooked on zombie books recently. Seems to draw you in more than the movies (as books typically do...)

If anyone hasn't read it yet, World War Z is definitely worth a look.

Thriller is about all the zombie I can take...

Check out We're Alive. It's a fully acted radio drama about a zombie apocalypse. It's nothing short of amazing.

Ooh, We're Alive is great! I've actually got it stored in my bookmarks, but I only made it through about 6 or 7 chapters before I got caught up with exams a year or so ago. I completely forgot about it after that. I need to get started back on it.

I just finished Season 2.. holy crap. I'm standing by for Season 3.

I am not into zombie books at all, and movies very little. However, the concept is admittedly fun. For those runners out there, there is a "Zombie, Run!" app for your smart phone that is a fun workout.

The zombie craze is no different than the martial arts craze of the 70's/80's Bruce Lee created. Only instead of self induced brain injuries via nunchuks, people are eating bath salts with a side of the neighbors.
