A few years ago I was considering joining the Coast Guard when I took a year of from college. I ultimately decided to finish college first and then apply if that was still what I wanted to do. Well I graduated last May and I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do, so I began getting things in order to apply for the Coast Guard. I just got in contact with a recruiter and submitted my application on October 1st.
Considering, I just recently turned 26 at the end of September, hopefully, everything goes smoothly after MEPS and the ASVAB and I can leave for boot within a year. Being 26 I'm pretty close to the age cut-off, but I shouldn't need any waivers, and hopefully I did the right thing getting started on this right at the beginning of the new fiscal year.
