I'm sure someone will be along to answer your question, but there is also a topic dedicated to prior service on this forum that might help you out. Thank you for your service!

Contact a recruiter. We have a few on this forum that can help answer your initial questions but your local guy will have the best answers for you face to face. Your RE code is good, time in service isn't over the allowable amount. How fo you stand financially, physically, dependents? Those are all things that need to be looked at. But you are on a good track so far. Thank you for your service in the Marines and hopefully you can have a great time in the Coast Guard as well. Please feel free to ask anything, we are happy to help. Welcome aboard.

Thank you very much! Financially we are okay. We don't exceed the debt limit by any means. I do have a wife and a 7 month old baby girl, though.
I will be trying to contact a recruiter first thing Monday.
Thank you all for YOUR service as well.

Wife & baby are fine. You can enlist with 2 dependents, so that is good, too. I'm glad the debt to income thing is in good standing. My "service" was that as a wife and now as a mom, both Coasties and I'm proud of both of them. But I've never personally been in uniform.

You would start again as an E-3 probably, and you would then wait as a nonrate until you pick a rating and either strike or go to Aschool. The heavy equipment that me mostly deal with are cranes, the icebreakers and buoy tenders have these but anyone on deckforce can/will learn how to operate them.
You can only make yourself look bad.
