    Hey y'all!

I just released my SF-86 form via eQIP this morning.

I was wondering, how long would it take to process the background check/investigation?

I realize there are many factors at play and appreciate any answers, in advance.

    Thanks!

    Asif

They don't need to do your whole background before you move forward in the process, but they need to see that you have completed the e-qip.
I already had all my other paperwork in before I did my e-qip. I completed my e-qip last month and had my DEPOT date and everything else I needed about a week later.

    Thanks Mike!

My recruiter told me he's still waiting to hear back from Recruiting Command on the confirmation of my billet so hopefully that happens soon. =)

I turned in my rate determination package and all of my supporting documents that went with it and I heard back about my billet about a week or so later.
Then I completed my e-qip and about a week after that I got my DEPOT date and A school waiver. I hope you hear soon. Waiting to find out is the hard part of waiting.
Waiting for it to happen after you find out is okay.

Your investigation doesn't even begin until you swear into the DEP. the process can take a couple of months to complete. That is why you need to be in the DEP at least 60 days before your ship date.
You can meet the standard, or you can set the standard. It's your choice.

Not to hijack the thread but does the 60 days in DEP apply to CSPI as well? Just curious if we have to wait 60 days on top of selection. Would like to leave as soon as possible, you know?

CSPI are not required to dep, but you will still have to submit the eqip.

Does this apply to Reservists as well? I am enlisting as a Reservist and thought Reservists don't "DEP" per se? am I mistaken?

Reservists do not DEP. But, you still have to fill out the EQIP which needs to be released at least 60 days prior to your ship date.

The e-qip is the online form you fill out so the CG can complete your background check.
