I'm currently active duty Army with a TS/SCI and I was just curious about a few things. I'm interested in crossing over to the CG, but it seems like the wait times are getting longer every year. Would the fact I have an active TS/SCI clearance speed up the process at all? I would hate to go through the process and lose my clearance in the interim. My current MOS is 35N & I'm looking into IS or OS rates.

I dont think you would lose your clearance, and if you did, it is apart of our recruitment process anyway, and then to get a higher clearance you would just need to go through a process again while you wait or are at a-school. But no, having it already will not speed up the process.
Take what you like and leave the rest behind.

OS will do very little intel. Yes, we work with classified info, sometimes at the TS level, but its mostly just Comtac, law enforcement, crypto, etc.
Honor: if you need it defined, you don’t have it.

the recruitment process probably will be long, there is no way around that. but how much intel you do really depends on your billet and which unit you're at. but you shouldn't lose your clearance. just make sure you keep your clearance updated and make sure your 2 shop doesn't screw you out of it prior to ETS'ing. that happened to my buddy who was also a 35 series. but i've got a few 25 series friends who didn't have a problem keeping theirs prior to ETS'ing.

@mjohnson2104- You will have to do a whole new SF 86 since a new clearance investigation will be done once you are accepted to join, but you won't lose your clearance or anything like that as long as you continue to fulfill your Army obligations. As far as making the process go faster, I don't think it will do anything to grease the skids other than it will show your recruiter that you do qualify for the position. I have a few former army 35 series friends who did the DCIO program, which I'm applying for as well, and that has been my experience. Good luck.
O be wise, what can I say more? -Jacob
