    With being a rescue/salvage diver for the town harbourmaster, a rescue diver for the civillian corps of the fire department, a trained emergency first responder, a deck hand aboard the SSV. Tabor Boy, and owning a commercial fishing buisness, I thought that joining the Aucillary would be a breeze, but having applied to flotilla 12-8 out of scituate MA. (div.1), I was dismaied when they would not accept me, on the basis of my age (15 yrs).
    Today I spoke with the lieutenant-commander in charge of recruitment for the USCG Academy and she said the with my qualifications, my age should not be of any signifigance to the AUXILIARY.

    ```` who should I contact to come to a resolution with this issue?

    unfortunately, the AUX does have an age limit. i was recognized my Adm. Joel Whitehead during our district conference as the youngest auxiliarist but im sure thats changed now. one of the auxiliaries FEW regulations on a member is that they must be 17. i dont know why this is but its just one of the rules.

    i still encourage you to persue it though once you are closer to turning 17. i have had incredible training with the aux and there is so much to learn. at your age, you are way ahead of the game and your resume already has you set up for an awesome future.
