I've been using this forum for the last few months for various answers and also for good information with that being said my name is Colton and I'm 23. I started my enlisting process in February 2013. Being a paramedic and power lifter put me 40 pounds over my weight at 6 ft 3 in. So after I lost 40 lbs I went to MEPS and everything went well except for an allergy I had to medication as an infant. So after applying for a waiver it took 4 weeks of wondering if I'd get DQ to get word that my waiver had been accepted. So now I'm scheduled to DEP August 27 with anticipation of shipping to Cape May in October. I've continued training and looking into required knowledge needed for basic. I'm now at a grand total of 71 pounds on my weight loss journey and haven't struggled with it all. There were times where I thought I'd never lose my weight and then thinking I'd struggle getting the waiver but after hard work and dedication it's all paid off. I'm glad I stuck with the Coast Guard and was lucky enough to get in. I'm ready to join what seems to be a good family of service men and women. So for everyone that's serving now and severed in the past I'd like to Thank you.
