    Hi! My boyfriend and I were talking the other night and he mentioned something about always wanting to be a Coast Guard Expert Swimmer (I think that is right). Anyway, he asked me to do some research on what all he needed to do to possibly become one. I have NO clue where to look to figure this out and thought this would be a good place to come and ask questions. Is there a link to "requirements" to become an expert swimmer with the Coast Guard? Basically, if he decides to go this route...what does he need to do. He is 24 years old and was in ROTC in school but never went the military route, instead went straight to work out of high school.     This site gives you general information about the job of a rescue swimmer, or an Aviation Survival Technician (AST). It is kind of general but there are websites that go more in depth, but i'm not sure which. Hope this helps http://www.gocoastguard.com/Rates/ASTrate.htm.
