Where do all the retirees go to keep in touch since Fred's Place shut down? |

I was pretty disheartened when I learned that 'Fred' was no longer - found this during a link search and I hope it stays up. |

It was a matter of time. I stopped linking about 5 years ago. It was used by many for personal attacks in all directions. In some cases, people that were still with the CG (active and civilian) couldn't use their own names as the site was being monitor. Hopefully this new link will not turn into the same and we can share valuable information. |

So far, so good. One of the features of FP I don't like is the anonymity equals no credibility rule. |

Donno since Fred's Place..like most, I've been adrift, hanging a bit at SOCNET, a bit a MIL.com, and other places until I moored up here, hoping that we can develop this site into a homeport for us all. Meanwhile, Semper Pa, and Fair winds! |

Welcome aboard Yeoman. Congratulations on your son. You've probably got this but if you have any questions, fire away. We are happy to help. |

Second post here. New member. Retired from the CG Reserves in 2003. Started in the USN in 1961 to 1971. Then a short (1yr) stint VA Naional Guard hueys - from then on loved being a 'shallow water sailor'. |

Try the Cactus Coast Guard http://www.cactuscoastguard.org/. The Cactus Coast Guard gathers three to four times per year. 'tis my understanding that the next gathering is being considered for September or October of 2019. These gatherings are in the vicinity of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Arizona. |

Can't speak for "all" retirees keeping in touch. "Some" retirees gather three to four times a year with the Cactus Coast Guard http://www.cactuscoastguard.org/ |
