I'm not getting much luck with the USCG website, nor Google, so I thought I'd try this option.
I'm a 1LT, KC-135 Navigator based at McConnell in Kansas. I do enjoy my job, since most of it is Black World stuff. It's fairly rewarding at times, knowing you directly supported a strike, etc. I'm eligible to send a UPT package in soon, but I thought I'd ask some questions before I sign 10 years away to the Air Force.
I would like to swap over to the CG, but I really want to fly helos. I earned my CSO wings at NAS Pensacola, but obviously I'm not a pilot. I haven't seen much regarding Officers transferring branches. Are there any programs out there for me to get a pilot rating in the CG and fly? Would the CG even take me swapping over at all? What about for a non-flying role, then applying for pilot training through the CG? Are there any Nav/CSO related jobs in the CG? Forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject. Like I said, I haven't found much useful info out there, nor have I talked to a recruiter (would that even help?).
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
