Hello all, I need help finding out where I should send mail for my son who arrived at Cape May on Sep 22/2015. I got a letter saying that he was assigned toZulu 191 but on Mon Sep 27/2015 he called for 1 min and said " he injured himself and is not in Zulu and won't graduate with that group" that was all he knew, I have not heard since and I'm worry, I've been sending mail to Zulu 191 but no replay, I don't know if he is getting these letters. Does any one know what happen with injured recruits? Where do they stay/ get mail? Please help. Thank you!

I'm so sorry no one has answered this as of yet. I was crazy busy this weekend, saw your post and figured it would be replied to before I could get to it. I'm not sure what to change the company to because you don't know if he has recovered and fallen in with another company. If he has not, take out Z-191 and the Hall (I think they were James Hall?). Do the address exactly the same using Sexton Hall. It could be RHE or MHE, I think. Regimental Hold Element or Medical Hold Element? If there is such a thing as Medical Hold Element. But just address to your son, Sexton Hall. That should find him. Otherwise if you keep sending to his company, Z-191, the letters will get to him, just delayed.

I'm sorry it is such a miserable feeling. You just want to know what happened, where he is going, what will the new graduation date be. There are so many questions and so few answers at this point. You can rest assured knowing he is being well taken care of. If this isn't the type of injury that will put him out of boot camp, they will keep him in medical and take care of him, get him healed, get him back to a company. There have been some recruits that were in Cape May for months with stress fractures, minor broken bones, different types of injuries. They allow them to stay, heal, and complete training! That's a great thing! Hopefully you'll get a call or a letter soon!! Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help get them answered.

It is RHE. Several of my letters to Cape May were addressed like that. It's not the end of the world though it can be frightening for a parent because of so much being unknown. Just keep writing and stay positive. My son's time in RHE actually helped him get way ahead in the Required Knowledge and in other ways I'm sure.
