So I have been told conflicting things about the weigh in at boot camp. Both MEPS and the chief at my recruiter station have told me they will tension tape me to check my BMI if I am slightly overweight. My recruiter has told me they may not tension tape me at cape may, also I have read in the forums they will in no way check my BMI if I'm overweight, but the posts are a few years old. When I was at MEPS I was a few pounds over both times I weighed in, both times they used the tension tape and said I was fine and that my bodyfat % was like 16% and the coast guard max is 22%. I really have worked hard to get even close to my weight limit but I'm getting nervous I could be sent home. I am hoping someone on this forum will know firsthand.
