When background investigations are conducted for clearances, do they look at your medical pre-screen questionnaire?

I left out on my questionnaire that I have smoked marijuana before. It was in the past and I have no plans to ever again, so I didn't give it much thought. My recruiter sent my pre-screen forms to MEPS today.

If on my SF-86 I admit that I have tried marijuana in the past 7 years, will they look at my pre-screen and see the discrepancy? Or will I be fine because I admitted it on the sf-86?

Also, could I admit at MEPS that I have tried marijuana in the past? Or would I be dropped for having labeled I hadn't in my pre-screen?

Thats kind of a a weird question to ask. Its not like you forgot that you smoke pot....although it can be a memory loss drug. You just didn't put it and now you're a little scared that they will find out and kick you out and you're looking for us to tell you to lie or tell you it will be okay. I'd call your recruiter and listen to his advice. Honesty is always the best policy unless your little child draws something ugly and asks if it looks good. Then maybe tell them its wonderful...or let them know there is room for improvement.

Call your recruiter and ask what they would like for you to do.

Your background investigator can see your medical records. Remember that form you signed along with your SF86 giving them access to your medical records?

The recruiter will see everything as well. If I discovered this I wouldn't even send it to the investigator. I would DQ the applicant. Hopefully he tells his recruiter about it.
