Well, at least you know you wont be the only one on the bus that day. I'm going Reserves, so I already have my Rate and Station confirmed; I'll be a BM at the Small Boat Station in Port Aransas, TX. What about you? |

I'm 25 right now, but will be 26 by the time Basic rolls around. I won't be able to go straight into BM A school right after basic, because there's no spot available at that time. I'll either go to BM A school within my first year, or I'll get qualified on the job through the Striker program. I'm glad have it that way; 3 additional months away from my wife and job immediately after basic would be a tough pill to swallow. Everyone has their specific reasons, so why'd you decide to go Coast Guard? |

I hope to do L.E work in the Coast Guard and i believe in what the Coast Guard stands for. I'm not sure if I am just going to do my 4 and get out or make a living out of it. I going in with a open mind. How about you? |

Man, only a month late here...haha sorry. Moving, vacation, business trips, etc.... Anyway, I recently developed a strong desire to serve the Country, and also wanted to get back to the waters I grew up on. I respect the Coast Guard's mission, and can think of no better way to serve our Country than by serving on the TX Coast. I'm humbled by the service's history, and can't wait to be a part of it all. Less than a month to go... |

Yeah I'm ready...I stuck to the book with what to pack up, with the exception of white socks. I brought extra white socks in case they start to wear out as time goes by. Everything is all together, but not packed up yet. Just waiting it out and trying to stay in shape |
