Had my first meeting with the recruiter today and it went pretty smooth. I am currently IRR from my prior active duty service in the Navy so we filled out a DD-368. He handed it to me and said he wasnt sure how I route it up my chain of command. I came home and looked at the instruction and it said to email it to PERS. Then, I look a little more and it seems like everyone says that my recruiter needs to route it up. Any suggestions? Feel somewhat uncomfortable scanning and emailing a document with my info and SS on it, but is this how it is done?

    Thanks guys.

If you're that concerned about the email being intercepted (which is fairly unlikely), you could password protect it, send it, and then send the password in a separate email.

Apparently.. the recruiter should have to sent it up and he is looking into it right now.

I recently went through this process, (summer of 2015) went from navy selres to coast guard active duty and had to get a DD368 approved. The CG recruiter has nothing to do with the 368 process until it is approved from navy PERS 913. You need to get it emailed to them, and I would suggest following up with a call. I had my personal specialists at my command email it for me,but since your IRR I realize it's different. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have another specific question.

I'm Army IRR.  Same thing, recruiter submitted it himself and it was approved within three days.  You planning on going to DEPOT?  I'll be there in July.

Yeah I am. Hoping July as well. Any idea what you are looking at for a rate?

The process was changed. The recruiters send the DD368s now.

Yeah i'm planning on holding out for MST.  Will suck going from E-5 back down to E-3 for a couple years but the job looks like it's worth the wait.  What rate were you looking at?

Yeah I am in the same boat about rank. Aiming for AMT. I'm just crossing my fingers I end up at a sector and not a cutter straight from DEPOT, but it is what it is.

Same, but I know MST's are mostly land based jobs so if I end up on a cutter as a non rate I'll view it as paying my dues in a way.  Being on a cutter doesn't sound so bad to me, but leaving my wife and kids at home would suck.
